For Masechet & Hilchot Shabbat we begin the 12th Perek, and the Melacha of בנין, creating a structure. Tos' wonders why the Mishna transitions from the Melacha of הוצאה to that of בנין. The sugya however addresses the issue of בנין כל שהיא, a small hole in the ground or filling a small hole, is that a מלאכת בנין. We derive from Rabenu Chananel that the sugya is seeking answers to two questions? What benefit does the עושה המלאכה derive from such an insignificant בנין? And furthermore, can you prove and establish that such a small בנין constitutes a Melacha? The latter requires that we find such an insignificant בנין in the Mishkan itself.
