Description

The world reaches such low point by the end of Parshat Bereishit that Hashem decides He must wipe it out with a flood and begin anew with Noach and his children. Yet afterwards Hashem promises that He will never again bring a flood to destroy the world. But what if humanity falls to the same depths of sin again? If it does, how could He not bring another flood? We examine the nature of humanity before and after the flood, the critical process humanity - and each individual person - goes through during the "neurim stage," and how this transition leads to an elimination of the type of rah the can only be washed away with something as drastic as a flood. (Part of HaMidrasha at QC, OU-JLIC's Torah learning program for women at Queens College.)
