Description

This Parsha & Hashkafa shiur for Parshas Ki Tavo, based upon the Sefer המה ינחמוני, will explore the relationship between ארמי אובד אבי - Lavan as the perpetrator of evil - and the Mitzvah of Mikra Bikurim. The basic Hashkafa question addresses here is the following: when one is an intentional sinner regarding a lesser sin, is he responsible and liable for a more severe sin if he inadvertently caused that major sin? On the flip side, can one be rewarded for a good deed if that deed brought about great repercussions? We will study the Chiddush of the Beis HaLevi regarding the case of שכם בן חמור and the meaning of the verse וכן לא יעשה.
