Description

The prohibition of having relations with father's wife is repeated in both Arayot collections (Vayyikra 18 and 20) as well as atop Har Eval (Dev. 27); it also appears among a series of prohibitions relating to sexual relations in Dev. 23:1 - but none of the Arayot are listed with it. An analysis of its unusual added mention in Ki-Tetze is presented, with the comments of the Rishonim. Utilizing the narrative of Beit David, a proposal is offered to explain its unique mention here and atop Eval.
