In our series of shiurim on the fundamentals of Masechet & Hilchot Shabbat, we have studied the concept of Meleches Machsheves. In today's shiur we seek to offer an overview of the concept of מלאכת מחשבת. We will see that this concept includes many different applications. We will also establish that this concept is unique to Hilchos Shabos and does not apply universally to other prohibitions and laws in the Torah. We we focus on the insight of the Iglei Tal who addresses the issue of writing with one's left hand.
