In his introductory remarks to Pirkei Avot, Reb Chaim of Volozhin addresses the question: who is greater, the angels or man? He establishes that man is greater. In this shiur we will try to embellish this claim of Reb Chaim. This will be relevant to the concept of a דבר שבקדושה the recitation of which requires a Halachik entity called a ציבור. Only man can create such an entity. The last part of this shiur will be dedicated to gain an insight into the giant personality of Reb Chaim of Volozhin.
