Why is Devarim called תורת משה? Why does R' Yehuda admit that in the 5th Book - and only in this Book - can we Darshen (i.e. derive Halachos) from סמוכין, from the contiguity of two sections or verses in the Torah? Why is the Ba'al Koreh permitted to make interruptions (הפסקות) in the reading of the תוכחה of Sefer Devarim whereas he may not do so in the תוכחה of Sefer VaYikra? Is Tos' correct when he says that Devarim repeats what we already know from the 1st five Books? We will study a dialogue recorded by the Dubna Maggid between himself and his Rebby, the Vilna Gaon. We will study the insight of the שם משמואל, re: why did Moshe have to be a כבד פה? Why did Pharaoh have such respect for Moshe? We hope to complete this shiur tomorrow.
