Description

We began our study of Aveilus on Tisha B'Av two days oag with the prohibition of studying Torah, and today we seek to complete this topic. Our primary focus is on the following question: is an Avel, or for that matter each of us on Tisha B'Av, obligated in the Mitzva of Talmud Torah which is to be fulfilled by studying דברים רעים, or is there a complete removal of the Mitzva of Torah study with a Heter (permission) to study דברים רעים? Why does the Mishna Brurah advocate omitting ואתה קדוש on Tisha B'Av? He he indicating that there is no Miitzva of Torah study on Tisha B'Av? Is it possible to distinguish between Tisha B'Av and Aveilus? What is the Halacha re: studying Torah on Erev Tisha B'Av? Or on Shabos that coincides with the 9th of Av?
