In thia Hashkafa shiur for Parshas Chukas, we will analyze the Kli Yakar's explanation for the paradox of the Par Aduma and the critique of his interpretation. The controversy revolves around the issue of Teshuva: does one deliberately expose himself to temptation in order to accomplish teshuva by overcoming his evil inclination? Does teshuva permit this exposure which would be prohibited for a Tzaddik? We will discuss the great controversy revolving around the Rambam's philosophical writings and how this debate got out of hand and eventually lead to the events of Erev Parshas Chukas.
