Description
Derech HaLimud: Tzedakah as a Mitzva and as a monetary obligation. We will discuss Safek Leket in the case of grains that were found deep inside the holes where the insects hide their food. The Mishna requires that the owner allow the poor to collect those grains for themselves. In contrast the Mishna establishes that in the case of Safek Matnas Kehuna, e.g. parts of the Jew's animal - after Shechita - that are delivered to the Kohen. In the case of a Safek - the animal was owned by a non-Jew who subsequently underwent Geirus. The owner has the right to argue against the Kohen: 'prove your rights!' We must explain the difference in terms of the relationship between the Din Mitzva & the Din Mamaon in these two cases. The Toras Zeraim.
