Description
Agadot Hazal - those sections of Rabbinic literature that are non-normative, neither legally prescriptive nor proscriptive, are a treasure-trove of perspectives and attitudes towards an unlimited range of topics. In this series, we will look at Agadot Hazal - both in Bavli and in Midrashic collections - that speak of the enterprise of Torah sheBa'al Peh and the transmission and development of Halakhah. To wit - an Aggadic window into the world of the Beit Midrash. In this third installment, we propose a "back-read" to the D'rashot of R. Elazar b. Azariah as reported by R. Yehoshua's students when they came to greet him in Peki'in (BT Hagigah 3)
