Description

For Masechet Avot 5:23, we seek to understand the statement of the Tanna: 'the reward is commensurate to the effort and suffering'. We will study the Rambam in the Eight Chapters regarding the ethical issue: who is greater, the natural Tzaddik or the one who overcomes his desires and inclinations to violate the Law? The Rambam presents a thesis to reconcile what seems to be a contradiction on this issue.
