Description

For Parshas Achrei Mot and its connection to Parshas Kedoshim we seek to reveal the hidden significance of the mitzva of כיסוי הדם, and connecting the Parsha to the great principle of עשו סייג לתורה. We will study the connection between קדושים תהיו and the Middah of פרישות, both of which are generated by סייג לתורה. We will study the insights of the Chatam Sofer regarding the q' of one who 'steals' the mitzva of the Shochet by covering the blood, and the 'thief' must pay the Shoket 10 gold coins. The mitzva of כיסוי הדם becomes the paradigm for the Halachik concept of implementing a mitzva in the most dignified way respecting the Mitzva act. We will study the insights of R' Meir Simcha regarding the centrality of סייג.
