Following the deaths of Nadav and Avihu in Parshat Shmini, Aharon HaKohen is commanded to make distinctions between Tumah and Taharah and Kodesh and Chol. Why is this the response to the deaths of Nadav and Avihu? Why is this the responsibility of the Kohen? How does this set the course for the entire rest of Sefer Vayikra? Tazria and Metzora primarily engage the issues of Tumah and Taharah so we explore the importance of these distinctions, the true meaning of these misunderstood concepts, and how to practically apply them in our lives.
