Description

In the first part of this shiur we will study the Rambam's introduction to Masechet Avot. Why did Rebby place this Masechet in Seder Nezikin? Why is it called Avot? We will dedicate a significant part of the shiur to try to understand the dialectical nature of the Sefira period, the integration of Simcha and mourning. The last part of the shiur will be dedicated to a study of the commentary of the Toldos Yehoshua (Heller) to Perek Alef, Mishna Vav, the Midos of Ahava & Yirah, Hillel & Shamai.
