This Hashkafa & Parsha shiur for Parshas Shemini is largely based on the Sefer המה ינחמוני and is a study of the Tanchuma at the beginning of our Parsha. Can the Tanchuma be saying that Moshe was punished for his desire that Hashem choose Aaron rather than himself as the leader of Israel?? Can the Tanchuma be saying that Moshe had ambitions to be appointed as the Kohen Gadol and Hashem 'foiled' these ambitions? Our discussion of Jewish ethics will be based upon Chazal's understanding of the precise location chosen by God to be the place of the Mizbe'ach and the Miskdash. We will attempt to grasp the nature of the relationship between Moshe & Aaron. What can we learn from this relationship? We will discuss the great but rare Midah of ויתור.
