Description

In Parshat Eikev we reexamine the story of Chet HaEgel, the Sin of the Golden Calf. Why is this story being revisited here? How does Chet HaEgel fit into the themes of Parshat Eikev and the narrative of Sefer Devarim up until this point? Through examining the broken perspective that led to Chet HaEgel we come to understand the subtleties of avodah zarah that led the Jewish people astray and that continue to plague us until today. We internalize the importance of seeing God as objectively as possible and not in a way that is limited by distorted, subjective perspectives.
