This is a Halacha & Hashkafa shiur for Parshas Mishpatim which will address two different issues. One, why do we interpret עין תחת עין as monetary compensation rather than take this verse literally? the latter part of the shiur will address a different topic, namely, why the Torah's severity vis-a-vis the violation of גניבה? Only re this עבירה do we find such strict laws and penalties. We will base our self largely upon the Sefer המה ינחמוני. Unfortunately we cannot decipher one particular sentence in the presentation.
