Description

The connection between Yisro & Beshalach, the positive mitzva of Shabbos, the daily Manna that fell from the heavens, the ideal reliance on Hashem, מידת הבטחון. The minhag to eat פשטיד"א a 'meat pie' for Leil Shabbos to remember the Manna, covered on both sides. The Biur Halacha asks: why "eat" the Manna on Shabbos since the Manna did NOT come down on Shabbos! Also: why the emphasis on the covering of the 'manna'? We will study the Biur HaGra on Shul"A regarding the recommendation of the מחבר to read the parsha of Manna on a daily basis. None of the Gra's 3 sources seem to substantiate the ruling of the Sh"A, but perhaps reveal the true meaning of this ruling. Much thanks to R' Olbaum for the source sheet (we didn't hear the shiur).
