Description
In this Hashkafa shiur for Parshas Miketz we will try to understand the meaning of the name of Yosef's 5th nephew, Binyamin's fifth, נעמן, the pleasant one. How did this character of Yosef express itself? Is the middah of נעימות a spiritual one that belongs to the area of בין אדם למקום? Or is it an ethical quality that reflects man's relationship to fellow man? Or is it (somehow) both? Why is the name Na'aman sandwiched in the middle of the ten sons of Binyamin? In discovering the connection between Miketz & Chanuka, we find in the Beraisa that the word נעמת in Shir HaShirim is a reference to the mitzva of Ner Chanuka. Why? We will attempt to answer these and other questions.
