Description

In preparation for Hanukah we study a piece of Rav Yitzchak Hutner's (d.1980) classic work Pahad Yitzchak. In this piece Rav Hutner discusses the men of the great assembly, the critical group of sages in the centuries surrounding Hanukah, about whom it is said 'greater are the sons of the desolate one... righteous ones arose for more in the time of destruction than in the time when the Temple stood.
