Description

The relationship between Yaakov and his father-in-law is viewed through the lens of their last meeting; it is not necessarily the case, however, that Lavan's interactions with Yaakov began deviously or manipulatively. A fresh look at their developing relationship, along with data gleaned from Ancient Near East Texts will be helpful in reevaluating the story that the Torah is telling us.
