Description

Parshat Matot oddly opens with a discussion of nedarim, of vows. How does this topic set the sage for all of Parshat Matot, which includes the war with Midyan and Reuven and Gad requesting to inherit the land on the opposite side of the Jordan? We examine the depth of what a neder is, the impact of the intention behind a neder, and reveal its unexpected link to inheriting the land and creating a dwelling for Hashem in this world.
