Description

The Mitzvah which concludes our Parashah, Remembering the enmity of Amalek, concludes with a directive תמחה את זכר עמלק. Does this mean that we are to wipe out the nation of Amalek or their memory (once they're gone)? A study of the various appearances of Amalek in Tanakh and how Am Yisrael responded to it is presented. A suggestion of how this command might be understood is proposed, within the context of P'shuto Shel Mikra.
