Description
Halacha for Parshas Matos: the obligation to avoid activities that would engender suspicion. The request of the tribes of Reuvein & Gad aroused suspicion: were they succeeding from the People and alienating themselves from the Land & excluding themselves from the military campaign to conquer the Land? In the context of Moshe's response to their request we receive the command 'to be clean (pure) in the eyes of God & Israel'. This mandate has enormous implications & applications in the Laws of Tzedaka, Pe'ah, Chanuka, Tefilla, Shechita (ben-Pekuah), etc. We will study some of the sugyos & the Beit Yosef & establish the two basic categories in this area of Halacha & their differences.
