Balak

Description

Parshat Balak revolves around the determination of the nation of Moav to curse the Jewish people. Why is the tension between Moav and Israel focused on blessing and curse, bracha and klalah? We trace this conflict back to its origins in the tension between Lot and Avraham, the fathers of these two nations, and clearly define the terms bracha and klalah along the way. Through this lens, we see how Israel is meant to become the source of bracha for all the nations of the world and explore what it takes to be a people who properly channel bracha into the world and into our own personal lives.
