Description

In this series of Shiurei Halacha for the three weeks we wish to address the the status of a Siyum Masechta. Is this an occasion for a Seudas Mitzva? Who can participate in such a Seuda & be permitted to eat meat & drink wine? Would such a Seuda be permissible for an Avel during the 12 months since the loss of a Parent? Would a first-born be allowed to eat at a Siyum on Erev Pesach? Should a Siyum be made for the completion of the Written Torah? We will investigate the sources for a Siyum Masechet in Shas, Chazal, and Poskim.
