Description

Parshas Balak: what lessons can we learn from the Parsha of the talking donkey of Bilam? Rabenu Bechai formulates three lessons, but leaves us with a question. How could Bilam remain dispassionate witnessing the supernatural phenomenon of an animal speaking? Without asking this question. HaRav Shimon Schwab answers it! Based on one of the giants of the Mussar movement it becomes clear that the secret success of the Jew in the service of Hashem is the attribute of התפעלות, i.e. the ecstatic excitement in the search for God. Bilam is the antithesis of this attribute. The Tiferes Shelomo who derives many principles from the Parsha of the donkey. R' Tzadok based on Zohar explains why the mouth of the donkey was created on the 1st Erev Shabbos.
