Description

For Balak we will study an essay in the Sefer המה ינחמוני which we will entitle: the Nation of Israel & Bilam, a study of contrast. From a variety of Midrashim we learn about the uniqueness of Klal Yisrael. We are a people dedicated to hard work, to constant spiritual grown with no letup, no vacation. A Jew does not seek the easy way out, he is committed to the long process described by Pinchas ben Yair to ascend from lower to higher levels without any shortcuts, we achieve thru hard & heavy spiritual work. We are a humble people not interested in boasting about achievements. We will see why the Luchos are the symbol of this attribute and wy the three Regalim & the reed symbolize this unique attribute of Klal Yisrael. Bilam is the opposite.
