Description
We will study Masechet Sotah 39a and address the q': is there a Birchas HaMitzva for Nesiat Kapaim? We will demonstrate that there is a group of Mitzvot that do not have a Birchat HaMitzva proceeding the Mitzva act. This group includes Shofar, Tefilla, Birchat HaTorah, Sippur Yitzias Mitzrayim, kriat Shema, and Nesiat Kapaim. We wish to define the underlying principle that determines the omission of a birachat HaMitzva in these mitzvot. In the last part of this shiur we will turn back to Sotah 38a and study the relationship between Nesiat Kapaim and the Avoda in Mikdash.
