Description

Parshat Acharei Mot presents the order of the Avoda of Aaron & the Kohen Gadol entering לפני ולפנים on Yom Kippur. How strange: the sugya in Yoma quoted by Rashi here in oyur Parsha establishes that the order of the verse does NOT represent the order of the Avodah! We wish to understand what compelled Chazal to arrive at this conclusion & what are we meant to learn from the simple order of the Avoda as presented by the Torah? We certainly are meant to understand the verses al pi פשוטו של מקרא! We will discuss the Halacha לשעה elucidated by the Gra to the effect that Aaron & only Aaron could enter the whole year 'round if he performed the Avodah as delineated by פשוטו של מקרא. Why? Would this be a הלכה לדורות that applies in the 3rd Mikdash?
