Description

For Masechet Kiddushin 31b-32b, we will study the sugya of Kibud Av and Moreh Av, what is the difference between the two? The Gemorra analyzes the definition of Kibud Av: who must foot the bill for the food, etc. which the son provides for his father's Kavod? The sugya of Kavod HaRav, respect for a Torah scholar, begins here. The mitzva of respect for a Chochom is derived from the word 'zaken'. The latter refers to one who 'possess' Torah knowledge. Does מחילה have a place in the world of Kavod? This will impact on the Kavod one owes to a Nasi and to the Melech BiYisrael.
