What impact should Purim have on the entire year? The popular Yiddish ditty sung on Purim which declares that 'today is Purim, tomorrow is not' irritated the great Rabbi. Purim has an ongoing impact & we should change the song to read: היינט איז פורים מארגען איז פורים. The whole year is Purim if we will only learn its message & internalize it. The nation of Mordechai is a newly born one created by Hashem. The concept of תחיית המתים is central to Purim which celebrates the great miracle of ממיתה לחיים. This Yesod holds the key to unlock many mysteries of Purim. The obligation to get drunk; the Mitzva of gifts for the poor; the episode of Rabba 'slaughtering' R' Zeyra; the agency of Eliyahu to "notify" Mordechai about the decree of Haman, etc
