Based on an essay by Rav Kuperman, z"l, we will study the insights of the Seforno regarding the relationship between two different mitzvos of Teruma which Bnei Yisrael were commanded to bring in the Midbar. While one is obligatory the other is voluntary. What is the relationship between the two? How are we meant to understand the verse at the beginning of our Parsha which seems superfluous? We will study the deep insight of the Mashgiach of Mir. In the 2nd part of this shiur we will study the Lo Ta'aseh that enjoins the wealthy from giving more than the מחצית השקל? We will end the shiur by presenting 3 approaches to Moshe's destroying of the לוחות. We will compare the Rav's interpretation to that of the Gerrer Rebby.
