Description

For Masechet Chulin 116a-b, we will study the Mishna & the Sugya of קיבה, i.e. congealed milk found in the stomach of an animal, either a נבילה, or a kosher animal purchased from a non-Jew and slaughtered by a Jew. Since the non-Jew raised the animal should we suspect that the source of this milk was a non-kosher animal? We will study the case of cheese that was made by adding the stomach of an animal to milk in order to speed up the process of curdling the milk to make the cheese. When buying cheese from a non-Jew are we to suspect that the cheese was made with the stomach of an animal? In this sugya we will study the distinction made by Tos' between Basar Bechalv & other Issurim. The former is only DeOraisa in the case of בישול.
