Description

For Chulin 110b we will study the Sugya of the כבד (liver) that was cooked in a pot. Abaye sent Rav Safra to investigate this Halacha. Innitially it seemed that Abaye was curious about the liver that was cooked by itself: did the blood of the liver go out and go back in? Ultimately it became clear that Abaye was sure that the liver cooked alone was kosher. The כבד is too busy being פולט דמו to be "free" to be בולע את דמו. But what is the status of the דם הכבד שפרש, i.e. would it impart an Issur on the other pieces of meat when the liver is cooked with it in the same pot? The conclusion is that the meat absorbs the דם & becomes prohibited. Is the sugya dealing with pre-salted liver or raw liver that was cooked? Issur DeRabanan or DeOraita?
