In this shiur for Berachot 26a entitled: the nature of Tefillas Musaf, we will investigate 2 dimensions of Mussaf: one, as a replacement of the Korban Musaf, two, as "Tefillas Rachmei". Amongst the נפק"מ, we will address the controversy among Poskim regarding both Musaf for women & Tashlumin for Musaf. In the latter case, Tos' establishes that in the case of Musaf the principle of עבר זמנו applies. Whereas other Tefillos are two-dimensional, i.e. they correspond to a Korban but are also רחמי, the Tefilla of Musaf exhausts itself in its essence as a replacement for the korban; no element of רחמי exists, hence there is no תשלומין. We will spend most of this shiur proving that Musaf is רחמי, & offer a reinterpretation of the position of Tos'.
