Description

Rashi in Parshat Beshalach offers a surprising answer to the question: What made the Mitzrim regret their decision to send the Israelites out of Mitzrayim? They hade a change of heat because they had given Bnei Yisrael their valuable possessions. What compelled Rashi to deviate from the simple meaning of the verse? In part II: were the Jews willing to return to Mitzrayim? How could that be possible? Especially in light of the previous verse which indicates that Bnei Yisrael were crying out to Hashem for help. We will study the three approaches offered by the Ramban to explain the 'complaint' of המבלי אין קברים. This is typical of the Ramban's appreciation for the high level of the דור המדבר. How does עם differ from בני ישראל?
