Description
We will continue our study of Masechet Ketuvot 4a-4b, the analysis of the strict Issur Yichud that applies during the 7 days of Simcha and the subsequent 7 days of Aveilut even after the new couple has consummated the marriage with ביאת מצוה. This in contrast with the situation of אשתו נדה where no Issur Yichud has been imposed upon the couple. We will compare the laws of Ishto Nidda regarding certain מלאכות של חיבה, to Ishto Aveila, if his wife is in Aveilus where the Halachos are less restrictive. Ultimately the sugya rejects the distinction between the husband's Aveilus & the wife's Aveilus. In the case of a newly wed couple & the Kalla became a Niddah before the marriage was consummated, the harsh Issur Yichud is imposed upon the couple.
