Description

The Ksav VeKabala rejects the principle of סירוס המקרא, which requires juggling words in a verse, moving phrases from one part of a verse to another. Instead there must be a commitment to the integrity of the words of a verse. The 'simple' reading of the verse may require using a method of מאמר המוסגר which will mean that the Torah 'took a break' (so to speak) midway thru a verse in order to clarify a certain point. We call this a parenthetical insert. Another method of protecting Peshuto shel Mikra, developed by the same author, is Alef Bet, Alef Bet. This requires breaking down a verse into 2 halves; each half has 2 themes, and the second half of the verse corresponds to the 2 themes of the 1st half of the verse. We'll explore the method.
