We will discuss the שיטת האגודה re: אונס ביום אחרון, in a case where someone waited til the last day of a period of time in order to implement the action, and he was prevented from doing so by extenuating circumstances. Such an אונס is invalid. This is relevant to one who takes an oath to do something within 30 days, or the seller who comes to redeem him real estate in a walled city at the end of the 12 month period. How does this square with our sugya when he cam at the end of 30 days and the bridge collapsed? We will study the insight of Reb Chaim on this issue.
