Description

The most important thing for a Jew is to be one who constantly longs for Hashem and wants to keep growing. Everyone will have their ups and downs but overall, one must be looking to grow. There is a misconception that the job of the yetzer hara is to make us do sins. The yetzer hara does do so, but his job is really to dry us out. His job is to make us feel empty so that we don't have the desire to grow higher and get closer to Hashem. It says in the Gemara Yerushalmi that a dried out lull is assur. This is because dryness is compared to death. If the mitzvah of lulav is done without liveliness it is not a mitzvah. Same goes by our avodas hashem. We can't be dried out lulavs. We must have a burning fire in us that gets us going.
