Description

We will analyze the Mishna on Chulin 103b and the nature of the Issur Ha'ala'ah of chicken & meat on the same table. The sugya on 104a-104b records a controversy between Rav Yosef & Abaye re: גזירה לגזירה in the case of Ha'ala'ah. What is the root of this debate? According to Abaye is Ha'ala'ah a סייג meant to avoid Achilah or Bishul? In either case Ha'a'la'ah seems to be a גזירה לגזירה, is that unique to Basar Bechalav? Is there a way of avoiding this definition? How does the final conclusion of the Sugya assume that bishul might take place on the table? This q' is pressing even if we assume as Rashi seems to (see Lev Aryeh) that גזירת העלאה אטו אכילה. There must be a possibility of violating an Issure DeOraisa. So where's the Bishul?
