Description
In this shiur for Masechet Berachot 15a we will address the following question: Can one is is obligated in Birchas HaMazon MiDerabanan, e.g. he only ate a כזית פת, recite the Beracha on behalf of one who is Chayav DeOraisa, i.e. he ate כדי שביעה? We will study a triple-header controversy between Rashi & Tos'. They debate the statue of a Katan who is mature enough to fulfill the mitzvos, is the Katan obligated in this mitzva or is the obligation incumbent upon the father? Can one is is obligated in MiDerabanan be מוציא someone who is מחויב DeOraisa? Is Birchas HaMazon a Birchas HaNehenin or a Birchas HaMitzva? If the former is true then one cannot recite Birchas HaMazon on behalf of someone else. There is no ערבות in HaNa'ah.
