Description
We will study two different essays of the Pachad Yitzchok for Rosh Hashana (#28 & #11). The first is on the topic of R"H as a Yom Tov; the second is two categories of Kabbalas Malchus Hashem. The former will establish that R"H is two-dimensional. It is first & foremost a day of judgment. As such R'H is not a Yom Tov & lacks the status of מקרא קודש. At the same time R"H is a Yom Zikaron and it is this 2nd dimension that makes R"H a Yom Tov. In the latter part of this shiur we will compare & contrast the Kabalas Ol Malchus Shomayim of R"H with that of our recitation 2x daily of Kriyas Shema. The answer lies in the fundamental difference bet Ahava & Yirah, bet the vision of God in this world & the vision at the end of time.
