Description
We will investigate the requirements of Tahas HaYadayim & Taharas HaMakom for Kriyas Shema & Tefilla. Regarding Makom, this is indispensable in both Shema & Tefilla. The Rambam establishes that whereas cleaning one's hand is an essential requirement for Tefilla, in the case of Shema it is not indefensible. We will analyze this distinction. In the 2nd half or this shiur we will discuss three levels of recitation (re: Shema, Birchas HaMazon & other berachos), namely, when he hears his words, when others hear but he cannot (the case of the חרש), when he reads in his heart without even whispering the words. Rebby Yossi sets the highest standard for Shema as a Mitzva DeOraisa. Would a חרש need to appoint a שליח to tithe his grains?
