Description

Halacha for Parshas Va'eschanan: Jews & non-Jews, the Lav of לא תחנם and its contemporary applications. The sugya establishes three different Issurim all of which are derived from this single Lav in the Torah. First, not to sell land in Israel to non-Jews; Second, not adoring and praising the non-Jew; and Three, not giving gifts to non-Jews. Do these prohibitions apply exclusively to the 7 nations that occupied the Land, or to any idolatrous Goy, or to all Goyim? The Muslims believe in one God; are they included in the Issur of Lo Tichanem? What if one has a relationship with a Goy & expects to benefit from the gift he gave? Can ne refuse a gift when the giver is a Goy? Is there a Heter for דרכי שלום? What about an insignificant gift?
