Description
In this shiur for Parshat Balak al pi Ramban, we will focus on the prophecy of Bilam regarding the Kittim. The Ramban presents the thesis that this is a reference to Edom, the fourth of the Kingdoms which subjegate the Jews in Galut, this is Rome which is our present Galus and will only be defeated at the time of Mashiach. Not as the Ibn Ezra would have it that the prophesy of Bilam refers to Yishmael. The four beasts in the vision of Daniel refer to the four Kingships that afflict the people of Israel and send our people into Galut. The fourth of the beasts is Edom, the empire that will bridge from the destruction of the 2nd Mikdash all the way til Mashiach.
