Description

Does the Melech come to the Navi or visa versa? The controversy between Chizkiya & Yeshayahu over the respective obligations of Kavod vis-a-vis the Melech and the Prophet. The Melech may not waive his Kavod, there is no מחילה; but is this rule limited to עניני מלכות, or does it extend to personal matters? The debate between the King & the Prophet extends to a different area: may one exempt himself from a Torah obligations based on a particular understanding of the purpose of the mitzva and its in-applicability to oneself? Can we embark upon טעמי המצות & derive practical conclusions thereof? Perhaps this would apply when the observance of the mitzva will inevitably lead to dire repercussions. May one rely on רוח הקודש for Halacha LeMaaseh?
