In this shiur we will focus on the Issur of המעביר מרה"י לרה"י דרך רה"ר, is the essential מחייב the carrying in the Reshus HaRabim? Or is the essence of the Issur the relocation of the object from one Reshus HaYachid to another? In the light of the second definition the action of carrying thru Reshus HaRabim is secondary; its role is to separate the Reshus HaYachid of the עקירה from the second Reshus HaYachid of הנחה. In contrast, the former definition sets up an alternative to מעביר ד"א ברה"ר. The new Issur replaces the requirement for an עקירה והמנה in Reshus HaRabim and offers the possibility of begining and ending the Melacha in Reshus HaYachid. Would מעביר דרך רה"י require that one carry the object 4 Amos in Reshus HaRabim?
